  • Rice Starch

    WHAT IT IS:
    A white powder derived from rice widely used for its absorbing properties

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Absorbs sebum, controls shine, minimizes pore appearance, and repairs and maintains the natural skin barrier.

  • Oat Oil

    WHAT IT IS:
    An oil extracted from oat kernels 

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Rich in vitamin E and ceramides which help to soften, hydrate, and protect the skin's barrier. Known to reduce inflammation with a high linoleic acid, high omega-3, and high omega-6 fatty acid content.

  • Papain

    WHAT IT IS:
    A naturally derived enzyme from papaya

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Contributes to the breakdown of protein in the skin, helping to remove damaged skin cells allowing healthy tissue to heal. Soothes skin irritations and inflammation, lightens blemishes, brightens, and improves texture.

  • Blue Butterfly Pea Extract

    WHAT IT IS:
    A bright blue powder made from the Blue Butterfly Pea flower

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Known as a powerful calming treatment as well as an immune system booster. Antioxidant-rich, which stimulates collagen growth and aids in calming skin irritation and redness.

  • Kaolin

    WHAT IT IS:
    A soft, white clay mineral 

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Firms skin, and known to provide skin elasticity improvement. Its anti-inflammatory and gentle properties allow it to be used on sensitive skin. Absorbs excess oil, clears pores, and decreases inflammation.

  • Grapefruit Extract

    WHAT IT IS:
    Extracts from the grapefruit peel

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Vitamin and antioxidant-rich. Along with protecting the skin, it also gives the bead a natural, non-irritating, and refreshing scent.

  • ORANGE PEEL EXTRACT

    WHAT IT IS:
    Oils and aromatics extracted from orange peels

    WHAT IT DOES:
    High in Vitamin C, orange peel extract supports collagen and elastin growth. Rich in antioxidants.

  • OAT FLOUR

    WHAT IT IS:
    A fine powder from ground organic oats

    WHAT IT DOES:
    Oat flour is key in restoring moisture to dry skin and creating a protective skin barrier against UV rays and impurities.

A mineral used widely in cosmetics for its absorbing and cakey properties

Why it's bad:

Talc can potentially be contaminated with asbestos. Talc is known to be carcinogenic

A preservative that slowly releases formaldehyde to keep the product fresh

Why it's bad:

While not quite formaldehyde, once they’re used in skincare, they can leech cancer-causing formaldehyde into your skin

What it is:

Small beads used to help cleanse away skin and impurities

Why it's bad:

Not only does research show that these micro-beads can be harmful to your skin by causing microscopic tears, but they also run into our waterways, can’t be filtered out and don’t degrade
